The MTA Board of Directors have approved a multi-million dollar contract for the purchase of 50 additional light rail vehicles to be used on both the Los Angeles to Pasadena Metro Gold Line and the extension of the line to the Eastside.

The MTA Board of Directors has approved a number of changes aimed at enhancing bus service in the Gateway Cities area of southeast Los Angeles. Board-approved changes, which become effective June 2003 or later, will add service on some lines, restructure others and cancel segments as MTA moves to improve the utility and efficiency of its Gateway Cities area bus operations. These changes are:

The MTA Board of Directors will hold a public hearing to consider restructuring Metro Bus and Metro Rail fares, the first adjustment in more than eight years, at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12. The hearing will be held in the third floor MTA Board room at MTA headquarters, One Gateway Plaza, next to Union Station in downtown Los Angeles.
