Proposed Changes to Metro Bus Service


Metro Local Service Councils will be holding public hearings to receive comments on proposed changes to Metro bus service to take effect on December 12, 2010 or later.

Persons unable to attend the hearings may submit written testimony postmarked through midnight, August 31, 2010.

Upon request, foreign language translation, sign language interpretation, materials in alternative formats and other accommodations are available to the public for Metro-sponsored meetings and events. Service Proposals Under Consideration

Affected bus lines and service proposals under consideration are listed below. These service changes are proposed to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the public transportation system through better use of resources. Approved changes will become effective December 12, 2010 or later.

San Fernando Valley

Discontinue service Lines 40, 42, 102, 105, 206, 760, Dash Crenshaw, Dash Leimert operate parallel or connecting services
625 Green Line-World Way West via Imperial Hwy (625), LAX-Green Line (626)
Consider two service options: 
1) Discontinue Line 626;
2) Combine 625/626 into one line
For Optoin 1, Lines 117, 120, 323, Green Line, Beach Cities 109,Santa Monica 3, Culver 6 offer similar service

These proposals may be approved in whole or in part at a date following the public hearings. Approved changes may also include other alternatives derived from public comment. Interested members of the public are encouraged to attend the upcoming hearings and provide testimony on any service change proposal (public comments will not be restricted to just the bus routes operating in one geographical area). All public comment received will be forwarded to the responsible Local Service Council to be considered prior to taking action on the service proposals.
