Metro’s Bicycle Roundtable marks the beginning of a new relationship we would like to foster with the cycling community. These Roundtable meetings are intended to develop a dialogue to identify issues of importance to cyclists.
We’ve heard very specific requests from the bicycle community, and in order to process, prioritize, and respond to those requests we are forming the following Subcommittees:
- Policy and Planning will focus on bicycle funding, bike parking, legislative issues, long range planning, strategic planning, and joint development policies.
- Implementation will focus on design guidelines for new station planning and communications.
- Operations will focus on Metro bus and rail facilities.
The role of the Subcommittees is to offer and consider ideas, and provide informed feedback to Metro departments. The comments received at the first Roundtable meeting were consolidated into three “themes.” Please let Jennifer Gill know which subcommittee(s) you would like to be involved in, Jennifer Gill at gillj@metro.net or 213.922.4224. Discussions at Subcommittees focuses on these top priorities. We encourage you to participate in as many Subcommittees as you would like.
