Metro Westside/Central Projects
Some exciting new projects intended to improve transit service in the Westside/Central service area include:
Exposition Light Rail Transit
Phase 1 of the Expo Line Light Rail project from downtown Los Angeles to Culver City is under construction. Visit metro.net/expo for more information.
Phase 2, from Culver City to the beach, is in the environmental planning process.
Metro Westside Extension Transit Corridor
Metro is conducting an Alternatives Analysis Study to evaluate potential transit improvements for travel on the Westside. This study will also look at various modes, including Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) with dedicated bus lanes, as well as at-grade, below-grade, and above-grade rail options, and at least two alignments, one along Wilshire Boulevard and one along Santa Monica Boulevard.
