Poetry In Motion/LA™
Poetry In Motion
Launched in October 1998, Poetry in Motion/LA™ places poetry directly in the path of more than one million Metro Bus riders daily. In addition to placing over 60,000 poetry placards on the interiors of Metro Buses, the program also sponsors live poetry readings at busy bus stops and rail stations throughout Los Angeles County during the month of April (National Poetry Month).
Poems which are relatively short, upbeat and representative of the demographic diversity of the Los Angeles area are provided by the Poetry Society of America. Several of the poems are in Spanish. The PSA secures the rights to reprint the poems.

Among poets whose works are represented in the project are e.e. cummings, Octavio Paz, and Langston Hughes as well as noted Southern California poets Chungmi Kim, Quincy Troupe, and Michelle Serros.
