Laura London, artist The artist examines teenagers in social environments, in urban landscapes and dream settings. The seven images selected for this series of cinematically constructed photographs convey both the naturalness and self-consciousness that pervade all adolescent interactions. “This series examines personal, cultural and social identity that would be deeply appealing to the Metro customer. This is a dialog about youth and contemporary culture, timely and pertinent.” LAURA LONDON has exhibited nationally, in Canada and Europe including the Pasadena Armory Center for the Arts, Art Frankfurt ’96, Angell Gallery in Toronto and the Caren Golden Fine Art in New York. She received a Metro commission for the Metro Orange Line San Fernando Valley Station which was completed in 2003. London received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona and a Master of Fine Arts from the California Institute of the Arts.
