Metro Bus
Metro has initiated a number of art projects which enhance the transit experience for over 1 million daily bus riders. Projects have included a series of photo essay bus cards, live poetry readings at bus stops, collectible bookmarks, and art enhancements to Metro Customer Service/Ticket Centers.
The Metro Orange Line, a 14-mile dedicated busway, represents the collective effort of artists, design professionals and community members brought together in the design of stations, plazas and landscaping to enhance the passenger’s experience. Per Metro policy, 0.5% of construction costs were allocated to the enhancement of the Metro Orange Line through the arts.
