Local Libraries are a rich source of research and information. Availability via the Internet includes:
City of Los Angeles Public Library The Los Angeles Public Library website has a numberous useful databases, including a collection of 2.5 million photographs. It vast collections have been developed over the past 120 years. In addition to serving its own community with a Central Library, more than 60 branch libraries, and several bookmobiles, the Los Angeles Public Library is a major resource for individuals, libraries, and other organizations throughout the United States.
County of Los Angeles Public Library The Los Angeles County Public Library is a network of community-focused libraries that meet the informational, educational and recreational needs of a highly diverse public. 15 branches have created interesting local community history resources.
Getty Institute Research Library Contains the John Parkinson Collection, A collection of roughly 6,500 blueprints, architectural drawings, sketches, and photographic documentation of the construction site of the Union Station in downtown Los Angeles between 1932 and 1939 from the same father and son architecture team that designed the Los Angeles City Hall.
Huntington Library The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens is a collections-based research and educational institution established in 1919 by Henry E. and Arabella Huntington. Huntington was a key figure in the development of Southern California in the early 20th century who's influence cannot be underestimated. Internet Public Library The Internet Public Library is provided by the University of Michigan's Department of Information Science. It is the first public library of and for the internet community. It contains nearly 40,000 texts, books, directories, journals, serials, images, and other reference materials. It is organized much like a physical library and even has a reference desk to assist in answering research questions.
Los Angeles County Law Library Committed to their role in serving the legal information needs of all of Los Angeles County's citizens, the County Law Library has numerous print, cd-rom and internet resources, including subject guides for various aspects of law.
Pasadena Public Library Local Pasadena history collection, including transportation, Greene & Greene architecture, etc.

University of California at Irvine Part of the University of California Transportation Research Center.
University of California at Los Angeles UCLA's Charles E. Young Research Library, (YRL), primarily serves the research needs of faculty and graduate students from the humanities and social sciences, the School of Public Policy, and the Graduate School of Education & Information Studies. The UCLA Library collections Orion2 catalog contains more than six million volumes. UCLA, UC Irvine, UC Davis and UC Berkeley comprise the UC Transportation Research Center, with the main transportation library housed at Berkeley.
University of Southern California Regional history collections, digital archives, Doheny library, and the L.A. as Subject database, an on-line directory of less visible archives and collections that preserve historical materials related to the Los Angeles region.
