In 2004, the National Transportation Library launched TLCat: a joint effort of NTL, the Midwest Transportation Knowledge Network (MTKN), and the OCLC international bibliographic utility to provide meta-search capability across the resources of the nation's largest transportation libraries. Advanced search features include the option of limiting by format, date range, language, and other parameters.
As one of the charter libraries participating in TLCat, we were the only owner-operator library participating in this visionary collaboration. Since then, the TLCat initiative has added dozens more.
