Labor Compliance Unit

The Labor Compliance Unit monitors and enforces contractor compliance with State of California and Federal prevailing wage requirements for Metro public works projects. In this capacity, the Labor Compliance Unit works with regulatory agencies such as the California Department of Industrial Relations and the U.S. Department of Labor.

To assist contractors in meeting these requirements, the Labor Compliance Unit participates in pre-bid and pre-construction meetings to apprise participants of prevailing wage requirements. Additionally, Labor Compliance Unit staff provide on-going technical assistance to contractor representatives.

During construction, Labor Compliance Unit staff conduct payroll audits and on-site interviews as part of its monitoring efforts.

Additional information about Metro’s Labor Compliance requirements may be obtained by contacting the DEOD hotline at 213.922.2600. Please see the DEOD Resources Page for links to related websites.
