To Residents and Business Owners in the Vicinity of the First Street Bridge

NEW DATES: January 28 - February 28, 2008

Starting at 7pm, the First Street bridge (from Mission Road to Vignes Street) will be closed for approximately one month. The Contractor will be building the guideway for the Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension.

What to expect:

No vehicles will be able to access the First Street Bridge, except for emergency responders.
Traffic will be detoured around the First Street Bridge.
Pedestrians will be able to cross on the south side of the bridge.
Crews will work daytime, evening and weekend hours.

Note: This 4-week closure will avoid the need for repeated closures during the next ten months. Additional short-term closures may be required due to the widening of the bridge by the City of Los Angeles. Additional traffic reconfigurations over the bridge will be implemented when Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension begins testing trains in the fall of 2008.
